I grew up in New Jersey, just outside of NYC. I spent 9 years in Charlotte and now call Austin, TX, home. I worked in NYC in my early career, and it had a huge impact on me. It was amazing to see artists putting in so much effort on the street, only to have it covered up or altered by other artists. This taught me to be less precious about my work and to keep creating.

I’ve been drawing since I was a kid, and I’m a big fan of mid-century illustration and design, cartoons from the 30s, 40s, and 50s, old magazines, advertising mascots, street art, skate and tiki culture. Some of my favorite illustrators and designers are Jim Flora, Gary Baseman, Gary Taxali, Morning Breath, Arron Draplin, and House Industries.

Music is a huge part of my life, and I’m old enough to have seen Nirvana live in concert…yikes! Some of my favorite bands are Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Sleater-Kinney, Pavement, The Kills, The Cure, and Beach House. Lately, I’ve been into Snail Mail, Feeble Little Horse, Wednesday, and Horsegirl.

I’m nothing without my amazing wife, Wassa, and my daughter, Becca. We have two cats, Cosmo, who’s a super affectionate black cat, and Cheeto, a spunky orange tabby.
